Volunteers Make a Difference

The Door County Triathlon had another outstanding race in July of 2024. The event, which started a silent sports boom on the peninsula, celebrated 20 years at Frank E. Murphy Park. BSPOA ran a water bottle exchange on the bike course. Thank you to all our Triathlon volunteers!

Bryan Troutman, Chair

The 18th DC FALL 50 was held October 26th. BSPOA managed one of eight rest stations located along the 50-mile route from Gills Rock to Sturgeon Bay. Eighteen volunteers worked on parking/crowd control and food and beverage distribution. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a huge success. Furthermore, we receive a substantial payment.

Jim Schultz, Chair

SPRING CLEANUP will be Saturday, May 10th, with options for members to do their assigned section, preferably, a week before or after that date. Thank you to those who volunteered! Several weeks in advance, you’ll receive an email with all the details. Let’s keep our drive looking great as part of our good fortune of living here.

Twelve property owners participated in our 50/50 grant program this year to eliminate INVASIVE SPECIES from their property. Our grant covers 50% of the cost up to $500. Become a part of this valuable program, which enables native plants to return and promotes a healthy ecosystem. Jamie Palmer, Administrator

The QUARRY BLUFF ESTATES developer continues to install utilities for the twelve lots currently approved in the development. Curb and gutter were recently installed on the entrance road. It appears that necessary infrastructure will be installed by Spring 2025, at which time the developer will be able to sell lots. Jeff Schmeckpeper, Co-Quarry Monitor

The Board continues its evaluation of available SOFTWARE to assist in administering our Association. We hope to make a final decision soon. When we establish an implementation schedule for the new software, we will repost members as to what to expect. Jeff Schmeckpeper, Co-Chair
